Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson’s Complete Relationship Timeline

Ah, Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson… Absolutely no one had this couple on their celebrity couple bingo card, yet here we are. Eight months after the reality star filed for divorce from rapper Kanye West, Kardashian started a new romance with the Saturday Night Live star.

When reports first surfaced that the pair were seeing each other following Kardashian’s first hosting stint on Saturday Night Live, it was extremely hard to believe but so, so meme-able. Still, now that the unexpected relationship has been confirmed, it’s really growing on us.

Here’s the complete timeline of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, in case you’re having trouble keeping up with this one.

2019

January: Four months after Davidson made fun of Kanye West’s controversial SNL appearance during a bit on Weekend Update, West, Kardashian, and Davidson are spotted at Kid Cudi’s birthday party. Timothée Chalamet was there too!

2021

February: Reports emerge that West and Kardashian are inching towards divorce after six years of marriage. On February 19, TMZ breaks the news that Kardashian had filed for divorce.

October: Kardashian and Davidson share a kiss during a Saturday Night Live skit about Jasmine and Aladdin on October 9.

The pair are photographed holding hands a few weeks later—on October 29—on a roller coaster at Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park, California. You can see the pics here. People reported at the time that they were at the Halloween event with Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. Barker, of course, knows Davidson through their mutual friend Machine Gun Kelly. Us Weekly reports that other friends were in attendance as well.

November: Though the date could have been completely innocent (roller coasters are scary! sometimes people hold hands!), the pair causes a stir when they are reportedly spotted having dinner in Davidson’s hometown, Staten Island on November 2. A source told Page Six that Kardashian “is intrigued” by Davidson: “She likes him.”

Kanye West must’ve heard that Kardashian is hanging out with Davidson, because he starts discussing wanting her back. On his November 4 appearance on the Drink Champs podcast, the rapper repeatedly refers to Kardashian as his wife and suggested their divorce hasn’t officially happened. “SNL making my wife say ‘I divorced him’ on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off,” West said, per People. “And I ain’t never even seen the papers, we’re not even divorced.”

West continues to discuss reuniting with his ex-wife throughout November 2021.

And then on November 17, this happened:

It looks like we have confirmation! The couple is spotted holding hands once again and a source tells E! Online that they’re exclusive on November 19.

“They are really happy and seeing where it goes,” the source said. “Pete has told her he doesn’t want to see anyone else.” Kardashian reportedly feels the same, with the source continuing, “She is telling some people they aren’t super serious but she isn’t seeing anyone else…. She’s trying to not make a big deal about it but is super into him…. Kim is smitten over him and it’s very exciting to her.”

In case you needed the point driven home, the source also told E! Online, “He makes her laugh the entire time they are together and she is completely enthralled by him.”

One lucky tourist, Paul Barewijk, snaps selfies with the couple (individually) when he spots the pair at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles on November 27. “All of the sudden I looked to my right and saw Pete Davidson,” Barewijk told People. “I talked further with my mom and then I thought, ‘Who is he talking with?’ Because I know the latest dating rumors. And so, it was Kim Kardashian!”

Barewijk added, “They looked happy, sat close to each other, and walked away together. It looked like a date to me.”

Another source tells People that Davidson has taken to calling Kardashian “my girl” and that she “loves the attention.”

“He’s exactly what Kim needed after her divorce—someone to make her laugh and just have a fun time with,” magazine reported on November 29. “The end of her marriage was a very dark time for her and Pete has been the best antidote.”

They added, “He’s flying back and forth and spending more time in L.A. when he can to see Kim. He’s so into her and is always ‘my girl’ this and ‘my girl’ that.”

December: Davidson and Kardashian were spotted on a rare Saturday night off for the comedian. The pair was photographed heading into a showing of Spider-Man: No Way Home at a local theater in Davidson’s hometown of Staten Island, per Page Six. Scott Disick and his friend Chris Reda were also in attendance.

On December 22, Davidson was photographed driving around Beverly Hills in Kardashian’s Rolls-Royce (check out the photos here, via the Daily Mail), despite recent reports that the pair would not be spending Christmas together. “She had a good trip to New York,” a source told People. “Pete took Kim to some of his favorite places. She had fun. Kim is celebrating Christmas with the kids and won’t see Pete.”

These reports conflict with statements sources gave E! News earlier in the month. Those sources claimed Davidson was invited to Kris Jenner’s Christmas party. “She’s really excited about having him around and Kris is already obsessed with him,” the source told E! News on December 18. “The whole family is a fan of Pete’s and would love to spend a holiday with him.”

2022

January: In early January, the pair took off for a highly publicized vacation in the Bahamas. In Kardashian’s Vogue cover interview, which was published in February 2022, the reality star recalled changing her number in order to take herself off the grid.

“I was in the Bahamas, and the people I was with said, ‘We’re on fucking vacation. We haven’t been on vacation in a long time.’ And then they threw their phones in the ocean,” she said, possibly referencing Davidson. “I was like, ‘What? What? What? Am I allowed to do that?’ ”

Back in the States, the pair were spotted holding hands while picking up Pizza at Jon & Vinny’s in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 11, before grabbing ice cream at a local drugstore. You can see the photo here.

February: The “what are we?” conversation has happened! For the first time since being linked in October 2021, Davidson has called Kim Kardashian his “girlfriend” publicly. While chatting with Kay Adams, host of People (The TV Show!), about his upcoming Super Bowl commercial, he opened up about life in the public eye.

“Well, I don’t really have Instagram—I don’t have Instagram or Twitter or any of that stuff. So, most of my daily life is getting into cars and showing up to a set,” Davidson said. “Or, if I’m off, I just either hang with my friends or chill with my girlfriend inside. So I don’t do much,” he continued, referring to Kardashian with the title.

Now that that’s settled, Pete is maybe kinda possibly looking at getting his own place in L.A. Having recently made the move from Staten Island to Brooklyn, he sees picking up a West Coast pad as the next logical move, according to a source who spoke with Entertainment Tonight. “He has a ton of friends and work in L.A. Even though New York is home, he has been digging the bicoastal vibe. He is into whatever gives him more time with Kim,” the source said. “They are enjoying the pace they’re going at right now. Kim is so busy, has a big family, her businesses, and still dealing with her divorce from Kanye.”

With the label settled, Pete and Kim are upping the PDA factor. On Sunday, February 13, the two shared a sweet kiss while out to dinner in New York City. Page Six has the pictures of the couple’s first public smooch since they were spotted holding hands on October 2021.
